Multi-award winning freelance creative director

Simon is a multi-award winning freelance creative director and copywriter based in London and South West France.
Simon trained at Y&R London and Saatchi & Saatchi, under the legendary Paul Arden.
Subsequently moving to Lowe, he became an Associate Creative Director and Head of Copy while still in his twenties.
On leaving Lowe he became a worldwide freelance creative consultant, working in London, Australia, New York, SE Asia and throughout Europe. In Australia, he had his own monthly column in the leading advertising trade magazine Campaign Brief. He has worked in 11 countries on 4 continents.
Simon worked extensively at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe Y&R London, taking part in 5 successful new business pitches, and working on The Times and Sunday Times, Virgin and Marks & Spencer.
He has worked in almost every product category, on many iconic brands, from Vodafone and EE, to Smirnoff and Heineken, to Lloyds and Barclays, to Sky, Hyundai and Stella Artois.

He has won more than 20 major creative awards, and has had over 2 dozen pieces of his work published in the D&AD Annual. He has been a D&AD juror 3 times, and a D&AD Executive Committee Member 2006-09. In 2013 he was part of the Cannes Bronze Award-winning team working on the Economist for BBDO Amsterdam.

Simon works with advertising, direct marketing, integrated, digital and design agencies, brand consultancies, live marketing/events companies, media agencies and brands, as a creative director, copywriter and brand and communications strategist.
During 2009 he was the creative director on Barclays at Leo Burnett, London.
Simon’s media experience is unusually wide, and he is equally at home in digital comms, social media, film and print.
He is an experienced ‘brand guardian’ with articulate and intelligent presentation skills and management experience.
Recent projects include Google, Penguin and Quidco; Samsung forCheil London,Danone for HavasLondon, and EE for Publicis London.
