Shehan writes advertising, features and fiction.
He’s worked in London, Colombo and Singapore for a range of ATL, BTL and digital clients, and has won awards for his activation work for Heineken at Iris Singapore, his digital work on P&G at Arc Leo Burnett London, and his ATL campaigns for SriLankan Airlines at McCann Colombo.
He enjoys writing copies of every shape and shade – long or short, interactive or static, subtle or hard sell. He’s cracked ideas and crafted copy for print, TV, radio, outdoor, DM, brochure, digital and activation.
His debut novel, Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew was published to acclaim in Asia, Europe and the US and won the 2012 Commonwealth Writers Prize. He has freelanced at ad agencies around Singapore like Havas, Iris, BBH, BBDO, Grey, JWT, Y&R and TBWA, and has written features for GQ, The Guardian, and Rolling Stone and National Geographic.
