I’m Martin, I work across arts, culture, travel, tech and finance.
I’ve been writing for more than 15 years across such brands as Sotheby’s, VisitBritain, British Airways, EasyJet, and Emirates Airlines. On the finance side, I’ve spent 6 years working on retail finance and venture capital (EIS/SEIS) for SyndicateRoom, Angel Academe and Carbon13, as well as fintech press releases for PR agency CordComms.
I’m an expert at making words matter and creating copy and content that boosts sales, increases click-through rates, improves conversion, and builds audiences.
I have a lot of experience taking complicated subject matter and making it compelling and engaging.
Most recently, my work for SyndicateRoom has involved writing and editing long-form thought leadership pieces engaging with sector trends, tax efficiencies, investment strategy in a changing market and storytelling around compelling new startups. It included work creating social media content, interviews, articles and web copy to attract and engage users. There was also an emphasis on reacting to new AI trends in search, making sure content was primed for AI citation.
My work for Sotheby’s involved writing and editing articles, interviews with artists, collectors and influences, as well as concepting, short copy, brand pages, and tone of voice for auction campaigns, with products ranging from works by Picasso and Hockney to watches by Rolex and Patek Philippe.
For VisitBritain, my work involved campaign concepting, long form articles, social media and more, bringing the breadth of Britain’s travel destination content into a cohesive brand voice, and working to appeal to a range of international audiences.
