Hello, I’m Shehan, English copywriter

I’m New Zealander and I live in Singapore & Colombo.

I write advertising, features and fiction. I have worked in London, Colombo and Singapore for a range of ATL, BTL and digital clients, and have won awards for my activation work for Heineken at Iris Singapore, my digital work on P&G at Arc Leo Burnett London, and my ATL campaigns for SriLankan Airlines at McCann Colombo. I enjoy writing copy of every shape and shade – long or short, interactive or static, subtle or hard sell. I have cracked ideas and crafted copy for print, TV, radio, outdoor, DM, brochure, digital and activation. My debut novel, Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew was published to acclaim in Asia, Europe and the US and won the 2012 Commonwealth Writers Prize. I have freelanced at ad agencies around Singapore like Havas, Iris, BBH, BBDO, Grey, JWT, Y&R and TBWA, and have written features for GQ, The Guardian, Rolling Stone and National Geographic.
