I’ve always thought of myself as a have-portfolio-will-travel kind of guy. This flexibility has allowed me to cross continents and spend time living and working in cities that are at the forefront of the advertising industry—New York, Minneapolis, Singapore, Amsterdam, London. I don’t favor a particular kind of project or client. In fact, the opportunity to work on a bank TV spot on Tuesday and then tackle a public service campaign on Thursday is one of the huge advantages of this job. You learn more, you meet more interesting people and, ultimately, you bring more to the next project. Nor do I have a favorite medium (OK, maybe print has a slight edge because I like writing so much). But I do insist on a strong consumer insight and a sound strategy.
