Copywriting competition is now closed and shortlist will be announced shortly.

What would be a better slogan for Rio than ‘Live your passion’?

Copywriter Collective says let the names begin

With the Olympic Games starting in August, the eyes of the world will be on Rio. Their official slogan for the Games is ‘Live your passion’. But we think you can do better.

We are sure that with all your talent and amazing imagination there will be some brilliant entries. They can be serious but we would prefer a slightly subversive entry as the history of Olympic slogans has been terribly generic. Something more light-hearted, bearing in mind the political and corruption scandals that Brazil is renowned for, would be a winner.
Rio facts
Founded in 1565 and nicknamed Cidade Maravilhosa (marvellous city), Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil and one of the main tourist destinations in the Southern Hemisphere. More importantly, it will be the first South American city to ever host the Olympics.
Steeped in culture, it is home to more than 50 museums, it boasts the world famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema and the majestic Sugarloaf mountain. It’s diversities are extreme, from the seedy sprawling shanty towns, known as Fevelas to the glamorous and opulent carnival, arguably the biggest and best in the world.
All this under the watchful eyes of Christ the Redeemer perched on top of Mount Corcovada, the largest Art Deco statue in the world at 38m tall and now one of The New Seven Wonders of the World.
With all these facts in mind we would like you to write a slogan for Rio, short, punchy and all encompassing.
